About the Publisher

Alexis was born in St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands; she's of African-American and Puerto-Rican descent on her father's side. She has been a long time resident of the Bronx. Alexis holds an A.A degree for Paralegal Studies, B.A and B.S. degrees in Social Work and Political Science respectively and an MPA in Public Administration from John Jay College.

Alexis used to study voice with her coach and mentor, Charles Ward of the world-re-known doo wop group, the Ink spots. She's performed studio work and provided voice references for the 70's-80's R&B singing group, Crown Heights Affair. Her first and last voice reference/demo was with Atlantic Records in the late 70's and produced the classic R&B and Pop hit, 'Funky Sensation', which was sung by Gwen McCray. Alexis also modeled runway briefly for Gloria Vanderbilt to launch the now defunct 'GV Jeans' for petite women. She's currently working as an actress/extra and plus size model. As a certified Producer and Director with her own entertainment company, in her free time, Alexis produces and directs short digital films for her local cable tv station.

Alexis is also a writer and self-publisher. In addition, she is also employed full-time for a New York City Social Services agency as a senior director. She has 3 sons. Alexis is currently working on her second novel, to be completed in Fall 2008.
